Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and using hands-on skills every day.

You’ll travel for work to locations throughout BC, the Yukon and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews typically work / rotations, travel in and out of various locations, work -hour shifts on average, and enjoy the comforts of home in well-maintained crew houses.

As part of our team, you'll ensure that HVAC systems function at their best. Your week might start with a call to a commercial building to diagnose and repair an issue with the HVAC system —maybe it’s a faulty compressor, or a leak in the refrigerant line. Then, you’re off to another site to install a new unit – checking blueprints, making sure everything gets set up properly and start up goes according to plan.

Here's what you'll be doing :

  • Accurately troubleshooting electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels including basic knowledge of PLC and / or microprocessors.
  • Performing inspections using multimeters, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, etc.
  • Assembling and installing refrigeration or A / C components such as motors, controls gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, and compressors.
  • Installing, troubleshooting, and overhauling entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
  • Recharging systems with refrigerant. Checking and testing regulators and calibrating the system.
  • Repairing and replacing parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
  • Starting-up and shutting down major building equipment seasonally.

You will also help us stay organized by completing work orders, test reports and service records, assisting with inventory and stock control, and taking on additional tasks as needed. Safety is a top priority, and you'll be expected to comply with all safety policies and procedures.

A little about Wildstone. We’re family-owned and operated, we take on projects in some of the most remote, challenging and exciting locations in western and northern Canada, and our goal is to always make a positive impact through community involvement where we work.

We take care of our teams with benefits that include health / dental / vision, RRSP matching, Employee and Family Assistance Programs, and an Employee Recognition and Rewards Program.

Here’s what you bring to the table :

  • You have your Interprovincial Refrigeration Journeyperson ticket.
  • You bring years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC.
  • You have your own tools, and you keep them in great condition.
  • You’re dependable and a self-starter – you show up to work on time and get the job done.
  • Safety is not an afterthought – you have a history of working safely and making sure equipment is in the best working order possible.

If you're ready to take your career to the next level, we want to hear from you! Apply now and join a company that values your growth, safety, and success.
