Job description

Job Description

Salary: $55.00 per hour

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and hands-on work daily.

You will travel across BC, the Yukon, and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews typically work 21/7 rotations, travel between locations, work 10-hour shifts on average, and stay in well-maintained crew houses.

As part of our team, you'll ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently. Your week might start with diagnosing and repairing issues like faulty compressors or refrigerant leaks in commercial buildings. Then, you'll move to another site to install new units, verify blueprints, and ensure proper setup and startup.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting electrical systems, controls, and unit control panels, including basic PLC and microprocessor knowledge.
  • Performing inspections with multimeters, pressure gauges, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Assembling and installing refrigeration and A/C components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators, and compressors.
  • Installing, troubleshooting, and overhauling HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Recharging systems with refrigerant, testing regulators, and calibrating systems.
  • Repairing and replacing parts for refrigeration, HVAC, ventilation, and heat pump systems.
  • Starting up and shutting down major building equipment seasonally.

You will also assist with work orders, test reports, service records, inventory, and other tasks. Safety compliance is essential.

About Wildstone: We are a family-owned company working on projects in remote and challenging locations across western and northern Canada. We focus on community involvement and positive impact.

Benefits include health/dental/vision, RRSP matching, Employee Assistance Programs, and an Employee Recognition and Rewards Program.

Requirements:

  • Interprovincial Refrigeration Journeyperson ticket.
  • Experience in servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC systems.
  • Own tools in excellent condition.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, punctual, and committed to quality work.
  • Prioritizes safety and maintains equipment in top condition.
