Sysco Canada is hiring a Refrigeration Operator in Ontario (London area) to safely operate an ammonia refrigeration system and perform routine maintenance. The role is full-time, onsite, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule and flexible Saturday start times.

Requirements include Class A or B refrigeration operator certification and at least 1 year of related experience; familiarity with facilities maintenance is a plus. Relocation support is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation of an ammonia refrigeration system.
• Conduct regular facility inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair overhead doors, ramps, and wrappers as needed.
• Perform minor building renovations and moves (painting, ceiling tiles, flooring, carpentry, workstation configuration).
• Ensure preventative maintenance on related equipment.
• Perform forklift maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Follow Sysco safety policies and procedures.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Pay: $39-$41/hour (Depending on Experience)

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 3:30pm – 12:00am (Saturday shift start time is flexible)

*3 weeks of vacation to start

*Up to $2500 relocation reimbursement*

This is an onsite role. No travel is required except outside of occasional third party/certification.

Purpose

Reporting to the Fleet & Facility Maintenance Manager, the Refrigeration Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration system. This position is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation of an ammonia refrigeration system.
• Conduct regular facility inspections.
• Troubleshoot and performs repairs on overhead doors, ramps, and wrappers as needed.
• Completes minor building renovations equipment moves as required including but not limited to painting, ceiling tiles, flooring, carpentry and configuration of workstations and offices.
• Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on all related equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Manager.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on forklifts.
• Understand and comply with all Sysco policies and procedures, e.g. health and safety.
• Carry out duties in a safe manner as instructed through safety training.
• Participate in various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company and safety).

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

• Class A or B refrigeration operator certification. (Required)
• Minimum 1 year work experience in a refrigeration operator role (Required)
• Experience with facilities maintenance is an asset (internally and externally).
• Ability to perform the following physical activities: sitting, standing, repetitive motions, walking, reaching, crouching and lifting.
• Reliable and safety conscious with a teamwork attitude
