Refrigeration HVAC Technician

Job Summary :

Ainsworth, a subsidiary of GDI, Edmonton, is seeking to hire a Journeyman HVAC / Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team. Ainsworth is a Canada-wide company leading in the building systems industry, providing services including electrical, building automation, card access/security, and mechanical services.

Key Responsibilities :

• Represent Ainsworth professionally and courteously on every call, serving as a proud ambassador for our company.
• Read, interpret, create, and maintain drawings and specifications.
• Install, overhaul, and service air conditioning, heating, and related equipment and systems.
• Repair, replace, and adjust components on condensers, compressors, and pumps.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot heating and air conditioning units and systems.
• Instruct customers on proper care and maintenance.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of apprentices.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment and regulations.
• Enforce safety regulations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform all job functions safely, complying with health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
• Support other administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications :

• High School diploma or GED from a certified institution.
• Current driver's license.
• Valid Certificate of Qualification.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and practices of the trade.
• Understanding of HVAC/R codes, standards, and safety precautions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Grocery store retrofit experience is a plus.
