Compensation

A competitive compensation package is on offer, consisting of:

  • Competitive salary of $75,000 – $79,000 (commensurate upon experience)
  • Benefits Flex credit for health and dental based on salary, which begin effective on the first day of your employment

The Opportunity

As their new Refrigeration B Operator, you will be entrusted with maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing all industrial refrigeration systems in the plant. In addition, you would be responsible for the maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system and water treatment equipment.

The shift pattern is:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 330pm to midnight

Refrigeration B license or stationery engineer class 1-3 is mandatory.

Position Description

  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Ensure that all work is performed according to pertinent GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA, Safety and all established regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Ensure all frozen refrigeration systems are well-maintained.
  • Ensure all Ammonia Refrigeration systems are well-maintained, following specific safety procedures.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics to determine layout of industrial refrigeration system.
  • Usage of PLC programming.
  • Ensure efficient operating performance through troubleshooting system issues, providing timely corrective action.
  • Communicate and coordinate with supervisor concerning all short term repairs and long term repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to refrigeration systems to reduce system issues.
  • Monitor and record compressor readings hourly.
  • Provide support on production/HACCP/GMP issues, ensuring company standards are met and maintained.
  • Assist Maintenance crew if additional help is needed.

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant and current work experience
  • Any prior millwright experience would be an advantage

Qualifications

Refrigeration B license or stationery engineer class 1-3 is mandatory.
