Job summary

Covenant Health Canada is seeking a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic for Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton. You will maintain, diagnose, repair and optimize industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems, perform routine maintenance, use diagnostic tools, install and service systems, and keep detailed records of work.

Collaborative with FM&E and other maintenance staff to support safe, reliable operations.

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering (FM&E) Operations Supervisor, the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic performs duties within the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic trade certification. This role involves maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing Refrigeration and Air Conditioning components for efficient operations. Key responsibilities include conducting routine maintenance, utilizing diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues, installing new systems, servicing systems, and maintaining detailed records of all work performed. The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic also collaborates with other maintenance staff and departments.

Description:

Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics install, maintain, repair and overhaul industrial, commercial and residential refrigeration and air conditioning systems and their component parts. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic experience preferred.or 2 years Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Refrigeration Technician experience2 years in a hospital maintenance setting preferred. Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
