A day in the life of a Production Line Personnel:

As a production line teammate, you are responsible for assembling various food ingredients in trays, applying labels and ensuring that all products are processed efficiently. This requires dexterity and the ability to assemble small items at a fast pace while maintaining accurate ingredient weights on all food products.

OR

As a meat plant teammate, you will use knives and equipment to cut and prepare meat to recipe specifications.

OR

As a finishing hot kitchen or protein hot kitchen teammate, you will combine ingredients and cook products to recipe specifications to ensure a consistent item for our customers. This entails following recipes while creating chef-inspired products, working in a hot kitchen, cooking proteins, vegetables, grains, and pastas.

Successful candidates must be comfortable working with others, coordinating with them, and following instructions. This position requires some lifting, and you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Accuracy and maintaining a steady pace are integral to this position.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations.
  • Always follow Food Safety best practices and policies to Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.
  • Handles industrial production equipment including cutters, slicers, ovens, and dishwashers safely and efficiently.
  • Create products accurately and quickly.
  • Work as part of a coordinated team.
  • Keep workstations clean and safe.
  • Cold food preparation, including meat cutting, ready-to-cook meats, salads, and specialty trays.
  • Hot food preparation including soups, pies, breads, and home meal options.
  • Closely follow recipes and culinary instructions to ensure consistent quality.
  • Break down, clean, and sanitize equipment throughout your shift.
  • Understand and follow all safety standards including safety training, handling chemicals (WHIMIS), good manufacturing practices (GMP’S), and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
What you have to offer:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Must have previous food experience.
  • Ability to handle a cool working environment of 1 to 4 degrees Celsius.
  • Ability to work at a consistent pace throughout the day.
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented.
  • Ability to be cross-trained on a variety of different food production processes.
  • Attention to detail and consistency when engaged in food production.
  • Works in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Must be available to work night shifts and weekends.
  • Constant standing and/or reaching below shoulder level.
  • Constant gripping and use of production materials.
  • Occasional bending and twisting.
