CSN Northline is seeking a well-rounded Refinishing Technician to join our repair team in Smithers, BC. Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional, goal-oriented, and sincere approach towards colleagues and customers.
  • Ensure all tools, spray equipment, mixing tools, and spray booth are in good working order.
  • Perform equipment audits to ensure acceptable performance and identify faults or malfunctions.
  • Display good color vision and skills in mixing, painting, blending, and matching colors.
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces as needed.
  • Review damage reports and repair estimates, and plan the work accordingly.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines, attending safety meetings regularly.
  • Participate in daily and weekly production meetings.
  • Make logical and sound decisions appropriate to assignments.
  • Delegate tasks to apprentices when necessary.
  • Adhere to safety programs and ensure shop compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of vehicle repair processes including body, prep, and paint.
  • Knowledge of management systems and shop procedures.
  • Understanding of insurance policies and processes.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently at a Red Seal or Journeyperson level.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with agility.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in mentoring and training apprentices in the paint department.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
