Qualifications

Location: Maple Ridge, British Columbia
Classification: Full time, Onsite, Immediate Vacancy
Salary: $18.00-$32.00 per hour

This brand-new, 25,000 square-foot facility is packed with the latest technology and equipment, setting the stage for exceptional repairs and top-tier customer service.

Located in Maple Ridge, and supported by three of the area's leading dealerships—Maple Ridge GM, Maple Ridge Chrysler, and Maple Ridge VW—our collision centre is ready to make a big impact on the community. We're looking for passionate, skilled professionals to join our dynamic team and help us deliver the highest quality collision repairs in the region.

Your area of focus.

You will complete work required to restore vehicles to “like new” condition so we can reunite them with customers. Reporting to the Collision Centre Manager, you will work with your collision centre team to refinish & paint damaged vehicles.

What drives your day-to-day?

  • Preparing vehicles for refinishing including feathering, masking, sanding, priming as per insurance guidelines & standards
  • Assist painter with spot repairs
  • Match the correct paint required for the vehicle & apply paint & topcoats with accuracy
  • When required, paint repaired motor vehicle body parts, following recommended application techniques & quality guidelines
  • Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting guns, air grinders, & wrenches
  • Identify the family & properties of the plastic used on a vehicle to repair accordingly
  • Fit & weld body damage using wrenches & welding equipment
  • Perform quality repairs on a variety of vehicles

What are the must-haves…

  • You must be committed as an apprentice to pursue the Red Seal Journeyman’s certification
  • Knowledge of manufacturers' repair/refinishing processes & adherence to processes
  • Pursuit of/in process with I-CAR certification training & I-CAR welding certification
  • Some experience working with Estimators to complete quotes preferred
  • Ability to use selected vendor materials efficiently & cost-effectively
  • Knowledge of & the ability to operate machinery/tools required to complete repairs
  • Ability to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time & using power/hand-held equipment
  • A valid driver's license & safe driving history is required
  • You must be legally authorized to work in Canada
