Job summary

Suncor’s Sarnia refinery in Ontario is seeking a Process Operator to help ensure the safety of people, the environment, and equipment by following refinery policies while supporting reliable plant operations.

You will learn and become competent in all operating units, perform routine tasks, maintain an operator log, and report significant changes promptly. The role is safety-sensitive, with a six-month probation and SEBA representation afterward.

Qualifications

• Completion of TSSA 4A and 4B exams.
• Proven mechanical aptitude to perform hands-on operation of plant equipment.
• College Technical Diploma, preferably in Chemical or Power Engineering Technology.
• A High School Diploma or GED.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of people, environment and equipment through refinery policies and procedures.
• Learn and operate all units within the assigned plant and progress in responsibility.
• Report and flag equipment issues beyond scope to supervisor.
• Complete routine operational tasks and maintain an operator log.
• Provide direction and oversee maintenance and contract personnel as required.
• Maintain housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment.
