Job summary

CancerCare Manitoba is seeking a Referral Assessment Nurse to join the Central Referral Office in Winnipeg. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will triage, assess and coordinate new patient referrals, ensuring timely access to the appropriate Disease Site service providers and diagnostic tests.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support wait time data collection, and promote patient-centred care while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Patient-centred care orientation.
  • Basic computer skills including keyboarding, data entry, email and internet use.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Triage, assess and coordinate new patient referrals to CancerCare Manitoba.
  • Collaborate with Referral Office team and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely access to services.
  • Ensure patients undergo appropriate diagnostic tests and have access to support as they enter care.
  • Participate in wait time data collection processes.
