Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ experience as a reefer technician.
• Carrier and/or Thermo King training or accreditation is an asset.
• Proficient in preventative maintenance and diagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on reefer units, including minor service, RPM adjustments, and pre-trips.
• Diagnose issues during inspections and prescribe remedial actions.
• Repair and replace major components; manage electrical systems and battery changes.
• Use scanners and electronic test equipment for diagnostics on-board computers.
• Collaborate with Service Writer and other Technicians to complete repairs.

The Reefer Technicians will work in conjunction with the Service Writer and the other Technicians to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the TransX fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action.

• Hourly Rate Range: $25.00 - $38.00
• Additional hourly premiums available (shift ad skill-based)
• $500.00 Tool and PPE allowance
• 25-40 hours of annual training and supports education reimbursement

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years’ experience as a reefer technician
• Possessing Carrier and/or Thermo King training/accreditation is an asset
• Master of common occupational skills
• Performs preventative maintenance - minor service, downloads, prime/start units, RPM adjustments, minor repairs, run pre-trips, fuel polishing, and washing out units and battery replacement
• Performs preventative maintenance - major service, charging system - diagnose, repair and replace - starters, alternators, engine components - diagnose, repair and replace - Flywheel, belts, bearings and damper doors, electrical systems - diagnose, repair and replace - performing diagnostics using scanners, electronic test equipment, and on-board computers
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of components on truck and trailer refrigeration units, repairing failures; removing, replacing, testing for Freon leaks, assembling, and installing parts and components involving soldering welding and the use of refrigeration equipment
