Job summary

Genetec is looking for a Content Developer to join the Unified Content Services team in Montreal. You will help create high-quality content that helps customers understand and use Genetec products, collaborating with developers, customer support, marketing, and training teams.

You will design content that enables customers to become self-sufficient, participate in UI reviews, and translate complex technical concepts into clear guides in both French and English.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences (beginners to advanced).
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver high-quality content.
• Comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Knowledge of technical writing methods, trends, and technologies (structured authoring, single sourcing, reuse).
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with content creators across the organization to develop and document content guidelines.
• Design and create content (text and graphics) to help customers become self-sufficient and reduce support calls.
• Contribute to user interface reviews to improve product usability.
• Interact with developers, customer support, marketing, and training teams.
• Test software and interview developers to understand complex concepts.
• Gather and incorporate feedback from internal and external customers.

Votre journée en un coup d'oeil :

• Travailler en équipe, en adoptant un style rédactionnel commun
• Collaborer avec les créateurs de contenu de l'ensemble de l'organisation pour élaborer et documenter les directives relatives au contenu
• Appréhender des concepts techniques complexes en testant des logiciels et en menant des entretiens avec les développeurs et les équipes d'assistance technique
• Recueillir et intégrer les retours d'expérience des clients internes et externes
• Concevoir et créer du contenu (texte et graphiques) qui aide les clients à devenir autonomes, réduisant ainsi le nombre d'appels au support
• Participer aux revues de l'interface utilisateur afin de rendre nos produits plus faciles à utiliser

Ce qui fait de vous un excellent candidat :

• 5 ans d'expérience à un poste similaire
• Expérience avérée dans la communication d'informations techniques complexes à différents types de publics (débutants, intermédiaires et avancés)
• Capacité à planifier, hiérarchiser et produire du contenu de haute qualité
• Aisance dans la communication avec divers intervenants et experts en la matière
• Connaissance des méthodes, des tendances et des technologies de rédaction technique, telles que la rédaction structurée, le « single sourcing », la réutilisation, etc
• Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit (ce poste nécessite des interactions avec nos collaborateurs et clients internationaux)

Un atout si vous avez :

• Maîtrise de DITA et des outils de rédaction basés sur XML
• Maîtrise des outils de montage vidéo (Captivate, Camtasia, etc.)
• Portfolio de vos réalisations (textes et visuels)
• Licence en rédaction technique, en informatique, en génie informatique, ou combinaison équivalente de formation et d'expérience
