Job summary

AGI-Westeel Winnipeg is seeking a Journeyman Millwright to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, install and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical plant equipment in our Winnipeg facility.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager and working as part of a 11-person team, you will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure safe, reliable operation of complex systems integral to storage and processing equipment.

Qualifications

• Industrial mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal endorsement is required.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing environment experience.
• Excellent industrial troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions covering scheduled preventative maintenance and planned or unplanned repairs, installation and inspection work.
• Troubleshoot machine problems and identify root causes; determine corrective actions and report to leadership.
• Performs detailed major preventative maintenance and reports defects and corrective actions.
• Advises when equipment shutdown is needed to minimize damage or when continued operation is safe.
• Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles and lubricates mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics (e.g., clutch/brake systems).
• Makes temporary or permanent repairs; performs machining or welding as required.
• Assembles and aligns gears, bearings and shafts, including shaft-to-shaft couplings.
