Domtar is seeking a Red Seal Instrument Mechanic for our Port Mellon, BC operation. The role focuses on safe maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment and instrumentation to ensure uninterrupted production in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification required.
• Experience in industrial maintenance in an industrial setting.
• Calibration, installation and maintenance of instrumentation.
• Experience with DCS and analytical instrumentation is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to working safely.

As a member of the Maintenance team, you will provide safe maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment and systems to ensure optimum production.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification
• Experience working within an industrial setting
• Experience in calibration, installation and maintenance of varied industrial instrumentation devices.
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), analytical instrumentation and similar equipment in Kraft Pulp operations a benefit.
• Superior troubleshooting skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to working safely

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly rate of $54.27 as per the Howe Sound Labour Agreement
• Overtime is compensated per the Howe Sound Labour Agreement
• Comprehensive benefits package including extended health/dental coverage and pension
