Waste Control Service (WCS) is seeking a full-time Class 3 rear/side-load Driver to join our Coquitlam operation, covering Greater Vancouver. You will operate a Class 3 vehicle on assigned routes, follow schedules, and deliver courteous service to customers.

Requirements include a Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement (Class 1 preferred), the ability to perform physically demanding work, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement; Class 1 preferred.
• Two years of experience in waste management preferred.
• Able to perform physically demanding work and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 3 rear/side-load vehicle on assigned routes.
• Navigate routes efficiently, adhere to schedules and collect waste on time.
• Provide courteous, professional service to customers and address inquiries.
• Identify and resolve issues like blocked routes, damaged bins or equipment faults.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate with dispatch and supervisors about progress and deviations.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated waste and recycling collections company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste. We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region.

WCS is currently looking to add a full-time Class 3 rear/side-load Driver to our fast paced, energetic, and passionate service team. We are searching for a Class 3 Driver (air endorsement required). This position will work in our Coquitlam facility and run around Greater Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a Class 3 rear/side-load collection vehicle on assigned routes.
• Navigate designated routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and ensuring timely waste collection.
• Provide courteous and professional service to customers, addressing any concerns or inquiries related to waste collection.
• Identify and resolve issues that may arise during waste collection, such as blocked routes, damaged bins, or equipment malfunctions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure efficient operations and a positive work environment.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch, supervisors, and team members to report progress, issues, and any deviations from the schedule.
• Ability to perform very physically demanding job.
• Perform daily Pre & Post trip inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.

To be Successful:

• Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement – Class 1 License is preferred.
• Two years of experience in the waste management industry is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to work in a diverse and evolving group dynamic.
• Demonstrated capability to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere while working in demanding conditions.
• Ability to work with little to no supervisions at times with the added expectation to work in a team environment.
