• Prior experience working with seniors in a long-term care setting.
• Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation or related field.
• Enrolled in a program with intent to complete within three years of being hired.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a health care related field with demonstrated recreation services experience in care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assists in development, planning and implementing daily recreation and leisure activities in the home and community.
• Creates and maintains engaging spaces/environments in the home to support meaningful resident activity and participation.
• Maintains good communications with residents, families, volunteers and community groups.
• Observes and reports changes in residents' ability to participate in activities and updates plans of care as appropriate.
