We are looking for a Recreation Therapy Worker | Bus Driver to become a valued member of our interdisciplinary team. As a Recreation Therapy Worker, you'll play a vital role in implementing our established Recreation Therapy Program, focusing on geriatric residents and short-stay clients.

How You Can Make a Difference

As a Recreation Therapy Worker and Bus Driver, you will be a key member of our interdisciplinary team, driving the implementation of our Recreation Therapy Program. You will create and lead a diverse range of leisure and recreation activities such as arts, crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and exercises, tailored to our residents' needs and interests. Your responsibilities include organizing programs and special events, teaching activity techniques, and overseeing resident participation to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.

You will also take residents on outings, ensuring they have the necessary clothing and funds, and coordinate with nursing staff and supervisors. Whether leading individual sessions, group activities, or large events, you will adapt programs to meet the physical, social, cognitive, spiritual, and emotional needs of our residents.

Position Details

This is a relief part-time position (0.81 FTE) with rotating day shifts. Employees in this role are eligible to pursue internal postings for permanent part-time or full-time positions. Many successful careers within Interior Health have started from casual on-call roles, leading to permanent employment opportunities.
