The Opportunity

The Recreation Team Member facilitates planned and spontaneous activities to support the maintenance and development of resident skills, knowledge, relationships, and personal connections.

What Is In It For You
  • Maintains department records and completes documentation such as Resident Assessments/Re-Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding/RAPs, Progress Notes, ActivityPro, and monthly calendars.
  • Participates in evaluating the recreation program and related quality improvement processes.
  • Maintains recreation supplies and related tools/resources in good condition, following infection control policies, reporting deficiencies to the Program Manager.
  • Works a variety of shifts (days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays).
  • May involve travel within the province for education and meetings.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or related field from a community college or university.
  • Enrolled in a community college or university in a relevant program with the intent to complete it within three years of hire.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting is an asset.

Class 5 driver's license; Class 4 license or willingness to obtain.
