The Opportunity

The Recreation Team Member facilitates planned and spontaneous activities to support the maintenance and development of resident skills, knowledge, relationships, and personal connections.

What Is In It For You
  • Maintain department records and complete all documentation as per required timelines, including Resident Assessments/Re-Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding/RAPs, Progress Notes, ActivityPro, and monthly calendars.
  • Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the recreation program and related quality improvement processes.
  • Maintain recreation supplies and related tools/resources in good condition, adhering to infection control policies, and report deficiencies to the Program Manager.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • May involve travel within the province for education and meetings.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or a related field from a community college or university.
  • Enrolled in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or a related field, with the intent to complete the program within three years of hire.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting is an asset.
