Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Recreation Therapy Aide to join our care teams in Delta. You will work under the Manager, Site and Clinical Services to deliver engaging recreation programs that enhance residents’ lives.

You will plan activities with residents, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, and apply your dementia care experience and interpersonal skills to support safe, meaningful experiences.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education required.
• Post-secondary education in therapeutic recreation preferred.
• Alberta: Basic First Aid and CPR; BC: Intermediate First Aid and CPR.
• Food Safety Basic or equivalent (Alberta) or Food Safe 1 (BC).
• Class IV driver’s license may be required where the home operates a bus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, plan and evaluate recreation programs.
• Promote recreation programs to improve residents' quality of life.
• Plan recreation activities with residents based on their care plan.
• Work under the Manager, Site and Clinical Services or designate.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and residents.
