The Opportunity

The Recreation Team Member facilitates planned and spontaneous activities to support the maintenance and development of resident skills, knowledge, and personal connections.

What Is In It For You
  • Maintains department records and completes documentation such as Resident Assessments/Re-Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding/RAPs, Progress Notes, ActivityPro, and monthly calendars within required timelines.
  • Participates in the ongoing evaluation of the recreation program and related quality improvement processes.
  • Maintains recreation supplies and related tools/resources in good condition, adhering to infection control policies and procedures, and reports deficiencies to the Program Manager.
  • Works a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • May involve travel within the province for education and meetings.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or a related field from a community college or university.
  • Enrolled in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or related field, with the intent to complete the program within three years of hire.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting are assets.
