A community care facility in Vancouver is looking for a Recreation Therapist to assess and implement therapeutic programs for residents. The role requires a diploma in Recreation Therapy or a related degree, with a focus on geriatric care and knowledge of Jewish culture. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $37.89 - $47.31 per hour.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Manager of Weinberg Residence and in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Care Team, the Recreation Therapist plays a crucial role in evaluating the individual and group needs of residents. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs tailored to address the physical, cognitive, social, spiritual, and emotional needs of all residents. These programs are designed to meet the needs of our older adult population, taking into account their varying levels of care, diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and incorporating Jewish values and traditions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a two (2) year diploma in Recreation Therapy from a recognized College or Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from a recognized University program supplemented by directly related experience involving therapeutic programming with residents in a geriatric environment. Current membership in BCTRA / CTRA required. Courses in dementia-care and knowledge of the Jewish culture is an asset.

WORK SCHEDULE : Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday : 9 am to 5 pm Wednesday : 10 am - 6 pm
SALARY : $37.89 - $47.31
