Job summary

Fisher River Cree Nation seeks a Recreation Assistant for a one-year term to assist in coordinating and delivering community recreation programs under the Recreation Coordinator. The role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends, travel when needed, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities include planning events, developing annual work-plans, coordinating leagues, and preparing reports. Applicants should have Grade 12 or GED and a valid Manitoba driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED or relevant work experience.
• Must have a valid Manitoba Driver’s License with access to reliable vehicle.
• Excellent planning and organizational skill.
• Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist Recreation Coordinator in managing and coordinating recreational activities.
• Assist in developing and suggesting a schedule of recreational activity events.
• Assist in developing and carrying out an annual work-plan of recreational activities.
• Act on behalf of the Recreation Coordinator in their absence.
• Assist in coordinating, planning leagues and tournaments.
• Assist in securing funds for recreational activities.
• Must be willing to travel for work and training.
• Must be able to plan, organize and deliver children and youth programs and community events.
