Seasonal Term – up to 4 positions available
The City of Lethbridge Recreation and Culture department is accepting applications for up to 4 Seasonal Term positions of Recreation Operator to work at various City of Lethbridge arenas.
Pay Rate: $40.24 per hour
Status: The term will be approximately 6 months, starting in September
Hours of Work: 0 – 40 hours per week(day, evening, and weekend shift work may be required)
Duties
The successful applicants will be primarily responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and functional facility for various user groups. This will include maintenance of artificial ice surfaces and operation of refrigeration equipment, minor facility and equipment repairs, general janitorial duties, operations record-keeping, and handling public inquiries and concerns while ensuring that facility rules are followed. Applicants will also be required to perform routine safety and maintenance checks of facilities and equipment including various pumps, boilers and furnaces, as well as learning the facility policies and rules. Assisting patron groups in setting up special events will also be required, as needed.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Level I Arena Operators certification and are working towards their Level 2.
- Operational experience with ice resurfacing equipment is an asset.
- Experience with general custodial work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude to complete routine service checks, troubleshoot issues and perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Ability to work on a team or independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to carry out duties based upon oral and/or written instructions
