Extendicare is seeking a Resident Program Manager for the St. Paul Home in Alberta to oversee activation and recreation services for residents.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or related field is required.
  • Minimum one to two years management experience in long-term care.
  • Experience planning and evaluating effectiveness of group and one-on-one programming for diverse aging adults using a resident-centered care approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manages unionized and non-unionized contracted staff.
  • Recruits, provides orientation and maintains continuous learning opportunities.
  • Conducts staff investigations, performance management and return to work processes; monitors attendance; authorizes vacation and overtime.
  • Maintains staff schedules and revises job descriptions and routines.
  • Facilitates meetings for Residents Council, H&S and other committees.
  • Oversees resident recreation admissions and quarterly assessments in collaboration with residents and caregivers.
  • Coordinates volunteer programs and partnerships with community groups.
  • Coordinates activation, therapy and recreational programs across multiple domains.
