Position Overview

Are you interested in working for the City of Kamloops and keeping the ‘behind the scenes’ of our arenas and civic facilities functioning? Our Recreation Facilities Attendant – Arenas role involves setting up and cleaning facilities for special events, various janitorial work, ice maintenance and directing and answering inquiries from the public. Qualifications
  • Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.
  • Ice Facility Operator certificate - theory portion, with the ability to acquire full certification within four (4) months. Note: the experience for this certification is thirty (30) worked days as recognized by Technical Safety BC.
  • Ability to obtain British Columbia Refrigeration Operator (RO) Certificate within one year.

For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. This position will receive 14% in lieu of all benefits, vacation, stat holidays, and health time. This is a CUPE local 900 position.
