The Granite Club is looking for a full-time Recreation Coordinator who will support the Recreation Manager in overseeing the operations of the Recreation Department. This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating Recreation programs, camps, and events, as well as assisting with the daily operations of the department. The role is responsible for working closely with Recreation staff, coaches, and club members, ensuring that their support and guidance exceeds expectations.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing Granite Gold service to all Members, Guests, and Staff; Genuine Hospitality, Outstanding Attention to Detail, Listening and Anticipating Needs, and Dedication to Excellence
- Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of North Star software, including the Activities, Events and RPOS modules
- Assist in the planning and coordinating of Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, Fencing and all other Recreation programs and events.
- Assist in the hiring and recruitment of sport coaches and counsellors for Recreation Programs and Camps.
- Coordinate, track and bill private sessions for all Junior Recreational activities.
- Coordinate, track and bill private rentals for the SportZone and Hub.
- Prepare North Star reports as required and investigate any accounting inquiries.
- Plan, coordinate, promote and assist Recreation Camps.
- Instruct programs and camps as required.
- Support the Recreation Manager in training and supervising Recreation Staff and providing feedback and instruction.
- Complete regular quality standard assessments to ensure all Recreation coaches provide the highest quality instruction to the members.
- Maintain accurate records of athlete evaluations, program attendance, participation and feedback.
- Provide seasonal needs assessments to provide information on current programs as well as program gaps and opportunities.
- Promote Recreation programs, camps and events, liase with the Communications Department through work orders for timely promotion through club communication vehicles.
- Assist the Recreation Manager in all operations for the Hub and SportZone, including staffing, equipment maintenance, program and event set up, and seasonal SportZone flooring transition.
- Assist in administrative tasks for the Recreation department including billing for staff and contractors, registration of members into programs, policy and standards updates for recreation areas, equipment quality record keeping, and data compiling.
- Liase with other Club Departments as necessary when carrying out Recreation or other Club-wide events.
- Assist and execute other Club-wide events in the Athletics Division when requested.
- Complete Accident and Incident Reports as required and follow up with appropriate Members and Staff
- Ensure the office environment is well presented and that desks and offices are adhering to the nightly clean desk and office policy
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Post Secondary education preferably in Recreation, Physical Education or Sports Administration.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Member relations, ability to solve problems with finesse/
- Previous experience in events, sports programs or camp coordination
- Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and interruptions
- Reliable, punctual, team and service oriented, well-groomed, enthusiastic, co-operative.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of NorthStar is an asset
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- NCCP Coaching certification in one or more of the following sports—Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Fencing, or Baseball—is considered an asset.
- Available to work flexible hours; evenings, weekends and holidays.
