Job summary

Sienna Senior Living welcomes applications for a Recreation Aide role in Toronto, delivering resident-centered recreation and enrichment programs. You will design activities, build meaningful relationships with residents and families, and help create a welcoming community that supports happiness and dignity for all residents.

Reporting to the Director of Resident Programs, you will contribute to ongoing program refinement, coordinate daily activities, and assist in orienting new residents to the

Qualifications

• A post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or other related field from an indigenous Institute, private career college, college of applied arts and technology, another degree granting Institution or equivalent work experience working with seniors
• Experience in working with seniors including an understanding of motivation concepts with seniors.
• Understanding of leisure principles.
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging recreational programs for residents.
• Cultivate relationships with residents and families.
• Provide diverse activity options to promote health and happiness.
• Maintain records of programs and participation per guidelines.
• Lead activities and assist new residents with orientation.
