Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper is seeking a Recovery Superintendent to lead the recovery process, including boiler, evaporation, and chemical recovery, while driving health, safety, efficiency and cost targets.
The role requires strong decision-making, union-management experience, and a background in power engineering or chemical/mechanical engineering with high-pressure boiler exposure. Relocation may be considered for the right candidate.
The Recovery Superintendent will be responsible to maintain the efficient operation of the recovery process to support our kraftmill operations. The Recovery process includes recovery boiler, evaporation and stripping systems, tall oil, and turpentine recovery. The ideal candidate for this existing vacancy will possess the drive and passion to continuously improve upon the health and safety, efficiency and cost targets for the site.
This leadership role demands sound decision making and negotiation abilities as well as supervisory experience in a unionized environment. Preference will be given to candidates with an engineering degree or 2nd or 3rd Class power engineer certificate.

Reporting to the Utilities Manager, you will be part of a results-oriented team whose members are encouraged to exceed expectations.
Work alongside other department superintendents and process engineers and the rest of the Utilities Management Team and Shift Superintendents.
Compensation:
This is a salary position in the $100,000 to $140,000 range depending upon experience plus an annual bonus and relocation assistance along with a comprehensive medical, dental vision care and medical benefits along with vacation and defined benefit pension plan with CAAT.
