Job summary

St. Joseph's Mental Health and Addictions Service in Toronto is seeking a temporary part-time Recreation Therapist to support transitional aged youth with first-time psychosis and chronic mental health conditions.

The role is 18 months, three days per week, reporting to the Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions manager. The Recreation Therapist will work at program sites and in the community, developing and delivering group programming, collaborating with an interprofessional team, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Registration with CTRS or TRO preferred.
• Experience in mental health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment-based recreation therapy and group programming.
• Work with clients at program sites and in community or home settings.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to plan and implement care.
• Document outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support social and vocational activities as part of recovery.
