What will you be doing!

  • Acting as the primary contact to answer routine questions, obtaining and providing information to stakeholders within and outside the organization, and ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Organizing, prioritizing, assembling, editing and formatting technical reports to make them consistent, accurate and valuable; expediting these, when required, to customers before the established deadlines.
  • Providing general assistance to the staff within the Department by issuing and/or filing correspondence.
  • Preparing standard reports in support of the Department Manager and staff.
  • Providing guidance and support to other department employees on records management and information systems.
  • Processing and performing data entry into a database or electronic filing system, and maintaining hard-copy and soft-copy filing systems.
  • Implementing internal quality controls as well as security measures for the records management system.
  • Providing backup support to other sections or other roles within the same section.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Successful completion of secondary school (Grade 12) with 1-2 years of related experience or a college diploma in a related discipline and one year of experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe to filter reports, capture documents in PDF format, format documents, and prepare them for archival, modify existing procedures and create flowcharts.
    • Detail-oriented to identify discrepancies and errors in formatting and coding of documentation and any inconsistencies in metadata and records.
    • Oral and written communication skills to relay information one-on-one to interpret existing procedures to customers and coworkers.
    • Tact and courtesy when dealing with internal customers.
    • Working towards the Records Management Certification.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.

This role is a fully onsite role that requires the employee to primarily work at CNL’s Chalk River Laboratory site, with only occasional opportunities to work remotely, if desired by the employee.
