Overview

RECORDS AND RESEARCH AGENT - MATERNITY LEAVE REPLACEMENT

Reporting to the Manager of Records, Research and Pension Services, the Records and Research Agent is tasked with managing verification processes, including ordering U.S. and international checks, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs), commercial credit records and driving records. The agent conducts comprehensive searches for Bankruptcy, Litigation, Judgments, Tax Liens, Personal Property Security Act (PPSA) filings, and Criminal History. The agent must possess strong analytical and research skills to accurately complete these verifications and help clients make informed decisions regarding potential candidates.

The agent’s work ensures clients have access to reliable and comprehensive information to facilitate well-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct international verifications, including credit checks, criminal and civil record assessments, and other relevant searches using advanced online databases.
  • Manage assigned files, perform systematic follow-ups, and ensure the completion of all required verifications.
  • Respond to client inquiries and questions via email and online platforms, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Contact candidates by phone or email to request additional information or documentation necessary for the verification process.
  • Accurately publish the results of verifications in the system, ensuring clients have access to the information for review.
  • Adhere strictly to established deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with company confidentiality and security standards at all times.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and superiors.
  • Keep equipment and the work environment clean and in good working condition.
  • Apply problem-solving policies as appropriate.
  • Seek advice from superiors for guidance on complex issues and report any problem situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support departmental objectives and contribute to team success.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Education

  • Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Canadian institution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the official languages (Quebec-French / Ontario-English); bilingualism is considered a strong asset.

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Proficient in using computers, including web applications, conventional databases, and other audit tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for documentation, data analysis, and communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate research findings clearly and effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Adaptable to working in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Salary Range : $17.6.0000 To $18.0000 Hourly
