Job description

Peter Ballantyne Child & Family Services Inc. is accepting applications for the position of One (1) Full-Time Receptionist for the PBCFSI Office in Southend.

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the major responsibilities will be:

  • Answering all incoming calls and handling caller’s inquiries
  • Providing word-processing and secretarial support to all staff, including faxing, photocopying and shredding documents
  • Receiving, directing and relaying messages and fax messages in an effective and cordial manner, including checking the fax machine regularly and forwarding these
  • Ensuring confidentiality of all client-related material in reception areas
  • Maintaining an adequate inventory of office supplies
  • Ensuring the reception and photocopy area is kept tidy
  • Treating all calls and any interaction with the public, clients and staff with respect and maintaining confidentiality at all times

Qualifications:

  • Completed a certificate in office/business administration and one year of experience in related administrative functions
  • Mature, Stable and leads a healthy lifestyle.
  • Knowledge of office administration.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal and personal management skills, as well as problem solving and decision‑making skills
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • A demonstrated knowledge of fiscal and personnel policies
  • Knowledge of the Woodland Cree culture and language and the political and social objectives of First Nations generally and PBCN in particular
  • Knowledge of the Cree culture, language, political and social objectives of PBCN.
  • Persons of First Nation’s Ancestry are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
