We currently have a career opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional individual at our Markham location for a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. This role will be an on-site opportunity in our head office location at 10 Aviva Way in Markham, Ontario.

What You’ll Do

  • You will be the first and central point of contact for all visitors and clients to the Markham office, creating a positive and professional first impression of Aviva Canada.
  • Receive Aviva clients and visitors and ensure prompt contact is made with the appropriate individual or department within Aviva.
  • You will apply your strong customer service and problem-solving skills, while juggling multiple demands, and at times unhappy customers.
  • Warm and engaging demeanor with the ability to comprehend and interpret instructions to ensure understanding. Ability to assess circumstances, empathize and offer help.
  • Provide administrative support to the Operational Resilience, Safety and Security division as needed.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Security and Facilities representatives to ensure coverage and support ongoing initiatives.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism; willingness to own actions from beginning to end; enthusiasm and flexible approach to work.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5+ years of administrative/reception/customer service experience

  • The ability to work independently in a pro-active manner
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have strong English communication skills
  • You are well versed and comfortable with multi-tasking
