A well-regarded professional services firm in downtown Vancouver is seeking a temporary Receptionist to assist in managing a busy switchboard and greet visitors. This position acts as a 'working interview' for a potential permanent role and offers opportunities for skill growth in a collaborative environment. Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience, strong communication skills, and a reliable work ethic. Competitive salary and benefits available upon permanent conversion.
Temporary contract starting on Monday June 16th. There is a permanent role open for which the contractor can be considered- so the contract is essentially a “working interview”. Working with a mid-sized professional services firm based in downtown Vancouver. Stable organization with a friendly and collaborative culture.
Who- the Company:Our client is a well-established professional services firm with 25+ employees. They have a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with a high-energy and team-oriented culture. Stable organization with low attrition; many people have been with the organization for many years.
What- the Role:Our client seeking a new Receptionist who will manage a busy switchboard with around 25 lines.Answering around 20 to 40 phone calls an hour. Greeting visitors, offering them coffee/water, and getting them settled into meetings rooms. Cleaning the kitchen and ordering office supplies. Supporting basic accounts receivable and bill payments. Scheduling meetings and preparing meetings rooms. 8am, 8:15am, or 8:30am start time (depending on length of lunch break) and finishing at 5pm. Using Outlook, Word, Excel, Slack, and a financial system. Business casual attire (i.e. NOT jeans & sneakers). This is a short-term contract to start. The company will be interviewing external candidates for the permanent role and will concurrently consider the temporary contractor if they are interested in the full-time permanent role!
Who- the Candidate:Our client believes in a healthy work life balance and offers generous health and dental and vacation benefits. If/when this contract converts to permanent, the offered base salary will be commensurate with level of skills and relevant work experience, likely in the range of $47,000 to $51,000. Please discuss your hourly rate expectations for the contract portion with SWIM.
Where:The company is headquartered in a skyscraper in downtown Vancouver, very transit accessible.
