Job summary

A community health organization in Ontario is seeking a Receptionist to create a welcoming environment and perform clerical duties for the Health and Wellness department. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, knowledge of office procedures, and skills with Microsoft Office. This position values cultural awareness and requires a recent Criminal Record Check. Applications from candidates of Aboriginal descent are encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the structure of First Nation, culture, and traditions.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid within probationary period.
  • Acceptable recent Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

The Receptionist is responsible for creating a welcoming environment by greeting, informing and directing visitors and employees in a warm, courteous professional manner. In this role, you would find yourself performing a wide variety of clerical office duties to support the Health and Wellness department. Duties include, but are not limited to, answering and referring telephone calls and e-mails, photocopying, monitoring and ordering supplies, and distributing incoming mail and coordinating outgoing mail and courier services.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Skilled with office equipment, computers and various software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of the structure of First Nation, culture and traditions
  • Knowledge of inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment
  • Basic financial literacy
  • Acceptable recent Criminal Record Check
  • CPR First Aid or ability to obtain within probationary period

Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered.
