Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Canada is seeking a reception clerk to join our store team. You will be at the front desk handling product reception controls, ensuring weight and quality checks, and maintaining a clean work area.

The role offers daytime shifts, 20–24 hours per week, weekdays availability, and opportunities for skill development through in‑store training. No degree is required, and we welcome candidates eager to learn.

Qualifications

• No formal degree required; willingness to learn.
• Experience in receiving orders is helpful but not necessary.
• Interest in food and curiosity is valued.

Responsibilities

• Ensure application of controls for receiving products (weight, quality, etc.).
• Maintain clean and orderly reception area and desk.
• Operate equipment and supplies safely and efficiently.

What would a typical day look like?

As a front desk clerk, you will :

• ensure the application of the various controls for receiving products (items, weight, quality, etc.);
• ensure that security standards are respected in order to prevent theft of merchandise;
• clean and maintain the work area (reception and reception desk);
• use equipment and supplies safely and efficiently.
