Job description

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is seeking a reception area assistant to work onsite in its executive offices on a part-time contract basis from October 14th to November 16th, 2025. Interested candidates must be available to work every day of the event, November 7th to 16th, including weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to general telephone inquiries about the Fair and Fair activities;
  • Record messages and forward them as needed;
  • Check and respond to email inquiries;
  • Handle in-person inquiries and direct as appropriate; greet clients attending meetings and events;
  • Assist the Manager of Corporate Projects and the Senior Reception Coordinator as needed (mailings, deliveries, proofreading, photocopying etc.);
  • Keep reception area presentable and tidy;
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) is a must;
  • Positive, pleasant and professional manner is required in greeting and directing clients and patrons;
  • Organizational and time management skills in handling multiple tasks;
  • Ability to work phone, photocopier, printer;
  • Familiarity with MS Word, MS Outlook;
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in handling challenging situations;
Schedule
  • Assistant Coordinators would be expected to be available to work all the days of the event, November 7th to 16th, including weekends.
  • Approximately 15 hours / week (October 14 to 31st)
  • Approximately 24-36 hours / week (November 3rd to 16th)

Total number of hours : 110 hours

Job Types : Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length : 5 weeks

Pay : $20.00 per hour

Expected hours : 15 – 36 per week
