Position Summary:

Receives, logs and issues materials to the warehouse, production or designated location.

Essential Functions:

Checks goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.

Checks goods for damage and expiration dates.

Identify and account for all histamine products (seafood only).

Sorts, counts and checks received items.

Maintains required clerical records.

Operates warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage areas and/ or designated locations.

Identify damaged packaging and/or possible cross contaminated products.

Perform returns.

Maintain and rotate the cooler and freezer per regulations

Inventory control (USDA only).

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.

Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.

Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV)

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

Must be able to understand the basic functions of a Radio Frequency handheld computer.

Pallet jack, hand trucks

Box cutter

Internet, email, and other applications

Knowledge of WMS RF system of inventory
