Job description

Our client is a boutique law firm located in Etobicoke, specializing in residential and commercial real estate law. They are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join their dynamic team and support their thriving practice.

Your new role

This is a hands-on, full-time role as a Legal Assistant, focusing primarily on real estate transactions. Responsibilities will include:

  1. Liaising with clients
  2. Maintaining communication with real estate agents, mortgagees, and other solicitors' offices
  3. Handling bank transactions
  4. Organizing closing documents and reports, utilizing closing folder software
  5. Assisting in managing the lawyer's practice, including file management, calendar coordination, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and handling expenses

What you will need to succeed

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a minimum of 2+ years of relevant real estate experience in a similar capacity. Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines are essential attributes. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness and enthusiasm for learning, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, consistently approaching tasks with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive mindset. Excellent client service skills are a must. Familiarity with conveyancing is required, and holding a diploma in Legal Administration, Law Clerk, or Legal Assistant is considered an asset.
