Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional real estate law clerk to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing various clerical and administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum1-3 years of real estate law clerk experience;
  • Must have avalid driver's licence and a vehicle;
  • Proficient working withTeraview, Unity/ LCS/LDD, FCT, TELUS Assist, Adobe, Cosmolex, Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks, strategies, and processes;
  • This job requiresexcellent written skillswith particular attention to spelling and grammar;
  • Stronginterpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with legal team members, clients and lawyers by phone, email, and in-person attendance;
  • Highlyorganized, fast learner, and proactive with apositive and professional demeanor;
  • Experience in Family Law and Wills and Estates is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle real estate files from start to finish, independently or as part of a team;
  • Review Agreements of Purchase and Sale and conduct appropriate title and off-title searches;
  • Draft all relevant documents for purchase, sale, and refinance of residential properties;
  • Identify and raise potential legal issues to the supervising lawyer;
  • Obtain and review title insurance policies and endorsements;
  • Collect and organize client information and supporting documents;
  • Prepare and respond to requisitions;
  • Maintain and organize files in accordance with firm procedures;
  • Assist with administrative duties such as client scheduling, bank deposits, answering phone calls, and reception tasks;
  • Attend closings and complete electronic registration of documents;
