Job summary

Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto seeks a real estate associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our commercial real estate department. The successful candidate will work with our real estate and corporate groups on a broad range of sophisticated transactions, including development, financing, and structuring of office, industrial, retail and other properties.

• 3–5 years of real estate associate experience in Toronto.
• Experience in sophisticated commercial real estate & development transactions.
• Experience with M&A, office/industrial/retail properties, PPAs and related matters.
• Strong drafting, analytical and business judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal, client service, and leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with real estate and corporate groups on transactions.
• Assist with development and financing of various property types.
• Participate in public and private M&A transactions.

Job description

The successful candidates will have:

STIKEMAN ELLIOTT LLP, is looking for a real estate associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our commercial real estate department in Toronto. The successful candidate will work with our real estate and corporate groups on a variety of sophisticated commercial real estate and development transactions, including, public and private M&A transactions, development and financing of office, industrial, multi-residential,retail, sports, hospitality, entertainment and other properties, infrastructure development,public-private partnerships, and independent power generation projects.

• a law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario;
• excellent academic credentials;
• a breadth and depth of technical legal knowledge, excellent business judgment and strong analytical and drafting skills;
• excellent interpersonal and client service skills, strong initiative, and the ability to work well on a variety of teams; and
• excellent organizational, project management and leadership skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Compensation will be determined by a range of considerations, including year of call, relevant job knowledge, education, skills and experience.
