Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with a valid Class 3Q or Class 1 Drivers License.
• 5+ years of truck driving experience preferred.

Overview

Ready Mix Drivers are responsible for the primary day-to-day delivery of Ready Mix Concrete to Job Sites (Home Owner and Commercial). This role has a focus on customer relationships, providing great service with a positive attitude to ensure customers receive high-level delivery and product from Lafarge. This is a customer-facing role that requires a service-oriented mindset and a professional approach.

Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to all Lafarge safety and environmental policies and procedures.
2. Maintain equipment by doing daily pre and post trip inspections; have a good sense of accountability to keep equipment clean inside and out.
3. Build and maintain relationships of trust with customers in assigned geography. Own the satisfaction of these customers at all times.
4. Responsible for consistent and reliable customer service through delivery. Maintain a delivery service that is a positive, hassle-free experience for Lafarge’s customers.
5. Able to coordinate around Fort McMurray and surrounding areas to maintain on-time deliveries.
6. Maintain strong working relationships with Logistics and Operations teams as well as fellow operators.
7. Have a flexible schedule; this position may require an individual to work different shifts and be available most weekends.
8. Understand traffic rules and regulations in a commercial vehicle and be courteous on the road.
9. Participate in Lafarge Ready Mix Training Program.

Qualification

Education and Work Experience:

1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
2. Must have a Class 3Q (Air Brakes) or Class 1 Drivers License. Drivers abstract is required with application submission.
3. At least 5 years of experience driving trucks is preferred.
4. Ready Mix Driver experience preferred but not necessary.
5. Understanding of building materials industry, including product knowledge, is an asset.

Job-Specific Skills:

1. Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
2. No site ban in effect.
3. Live in Fort McMurray area.
4. Relationship-building (External customers and internal Lafarge personnel).
5. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
7. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
8. Strong sense of teamwork.
9. Able to lift >50lbs.
10. Must be able to work on Industrial Oil Sands sites in RMWB.
