Qualifications

Job description

Vancouver Ready Mix is an independent, B.C. owned and operated ready-mix supply company. VRM is widely known for expertise in major commercial, civic, sub-division, and custom engineered projects. VRM provides specialty concrete for all residential construction projects.

We are looking to hire several Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Drivers who can drive manual transmission. The work is based out of 22765 Fraser Highway Langley, BC V2Z 2T5. You will work throughout the lower mainland.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate and drive large concrete trucks to transport ready-mix concrete from the manufacturing plant to customers
• Perform pre-trip, and post-trip inspections on trucks for any mechanical and safety issues
• Comply with B.C. Commercial Vehicle Act, DOT driving regulations and company policies and procedures
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Meet pre-arranged delivery schedules
• Be able to position trucks into various loading and unloading positions, in sometimes high traffic or tight spaces
• Monitor all aspects of truck such as condition of equipment and loading and unloading of any additional equipment

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 with Air Brake
• 2+ years work experience as a ready-mix truck driver, preferred
• 1 year manual transmission experience, at minimum
• Knowledge of concrete and the construction industry, preferred
• Trailer experience
• Extensive knowledge of local and provincial truck driver rules and regulations
• Clean drivers abstract
• Adaptability and problem solving to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, safety)
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices in the concrete industry
• Proficient verbal and written English language skills, required

Job Type: Full-time, 30-40 hours per week Wage: $27.00 – $38.46 per hour, depending on level of experience
