Overview

Ready Mix Drivers are responsible for the primary daily delivery of Ready Mix Concrete to job sites within the Greater Calgary Area, serving homeowners and industry clients. As a Ready Mix Driver, you will manage customer relationships, provide excellent service with a friendly attitude, and ensure high-quality delivery and products from Lafarge. This customer-facing role requires a service-oriented mindset and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all Lafarge safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining accountability for equipment cleanliness and safety.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with customers in your assigned area, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
  • Provide consistent and reliable delivery service, ensuring a positive experience for Lafarge customers.
  • Navigate effectively around Calgary and surrounding areas to maintain on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Logistics, Operations teams, and fellow operators.
  • Have a flexible schedule, including potential evening and weekend shifts.
  • Understand traffic rules and regulations for commercial vehicles and demonstrate courteous driving behavior.
  • Operate electronic devices such as Tablets and GPS systems.
  • Be open-minded and a quick learner.
  • Lafarge provides a Ready Mix Training Program.
Qualifications and Qualities
Education and Work Experience
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related experience, with preference for construction and heavy equipment experience.
  • Understanding of building materials industry is an asset.
  • Class 3Q (Air Brakes) or Class 1Q driver’s license is required.
  • Construction and off-road experience are assets.
  • Knowledge of Calgary city layout.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
