Job summary

Fife Council in Kincardine is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant Level 2 to support pupils identified as needing additional help under supervision. This part-time, temporary role involves assisting with learning activities and personal development, and contributing to planning for individual pupils.

You will work with pupils individually, in class, or in small groups, and may assist with personal care, medication administration, and mobility support as required by training.

Responsibilities

  • support pupils/children individually or in class or in small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
  • contribute information to update planning and review process for individual pupils/children.
  • supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication.
  • offer a high level of personal care which will enable the pupil/child to function to their full potential e.g. toileting, administrating medication in line with agreed training procedures and encouraging self- help and independence.
  • carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists e.g. speech and language programmes, physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy programmes.
  • support pupil/child mobility (as defined by moving and handling training) on an emergency/short-term basis and for low level needs e.g. to support toileting or short-term injury such as a broken leg.

We are looking for a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) who is passionate about improving life chances for all, so that children and young people can achieve their full potential. As a Pupil Support Assistant (2), you will work under the direction and supervision of a class teacher or senior member of staff to assist by supporting children and young people who have been identified as requiring additional support.

You will be required to:

support pupils/children individually or in class or in small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
