Job description

We seek a highly motivated Senior AI Engineer to join the Computational Sciences organization.

Role Overview:

  • Design, optimize, evaluate, and deploy cutting-edge deep learning models (e.g., large language models, multi-modal transformers) and data pipelines.
  • Optimize and scale model and data pipelines for performance and accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain deployed models, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate novel ML methods into impactful applications for drug and target discovery.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field.
  • Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Experience in deep learning, with projects or publications demonstrating expertise.
  • Excellent Python and PyTorch skills.
  • Experience with MLOps, model deployment (e.g., Triton, ONNX), and API-based AI systems.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed training or multi-GPU/cloud infrastructure (e.g., Ray, DeepSpeed, TPU).
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent-based systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work proactively from start to finish.

Additional Details:

  • This is a hybrid role based in Mississauga, requiring onsite work twice a week.
  • Duration: 12 months with possible extension.
  • Salary: $65-$70/hourly.
  • Preferred candidates have a solid background in AI/ML, with a master's degree from a reputable university.
