Join Our Team as a Raw Materials Sourcing Manager: Shaping the Future of Battery Technology

Position Overview: Join us at an exciting time as we embark on a major scale-up, expanding our operations from Norway to Canada! Be in charge of sourcing strategy development for coke and pitch in North and South America. Establish a strong supply market position to ensure timely, cost-effective, and sustainable sourcing for Vianode’s plant in Canada (Via TWO), adhering to laws, regulations, compliance requirements, and Vianode’s internal procurement and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure cost-effective and timely supply of petroleum coke and coal tar pitch to Via TWO, maintaining required quality standards.
• Strengthen Vianode’s position in the North and South American raw material supply market.
• Collaborate with the VP Strategic Sourcing and Vianode Technical Center to develop new petcoke suppliers.
• Optimize logistics solutions for coke and pitch supply and related side streams from Via TWO.

Main Tasks:

• Implement the raw material strategy in the Americas, including:
• Supplier relationship management
• Supplier capability evaluations
• Documentation and standards
• Evaluate supply risks and develop contingency plans.
• Lead or assist in term sheet and contract negotiations with American suppliers.
• Manage procurement from key raw material suppliers to Via TWO.
• Implement Supplier Approval processes in collaboration with VP Strategic Sourcing and Vianode Procurement.
• Monitor the supply market, analyze market developments, and understand suppliers’ capabilities to meet Via TWO’s needs, both short-term and long-term.
• Develop and maintain robust and sustainable logistics solutions from suppliers to Via TWO’s primary crusher.

Qualifications:

• Experience in sourcing petroleum coke and coal tar pitch.
• Strong understanding of the North and South American raw material supply market.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Proven track record in optimizing logistics solutions.

Location: Southwestern Ontario, full-time on-site.
