Operations Shift Manager positions are responsible for establishing safety policies, procedures, and working conditions that affect employees on the job. They oversee the immediate work environment and the actions of all personnel reporting to them. They must communicate safety policies and procedures effectively, direct activities to ensure a safe environment, and maintain fast and efficient services. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. The operations manager must consistently display a professional and positive image.

Job Duties
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings for all employees.
  • Perform flight audits, station audits, and 'at risk' behavior audits.
  • Participate in monthly safety conference calls.
  • Promote safety awareness among employees, including new hires.
  • Coordinate staffing requirements with the customer.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, EPA, US Dept. of Labor, and EEOC regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, report, and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee disciplinary actions and ensure proper documentation.
  • Manage operational supplies and ensure adequate inventory.
  • Review payroll and monitor operational costs.
  • Conduct meetings, briefings, and inspections to ensure smooth operations.
  • Investigate service failures and manage operational plans.
  • Complete personnel evaluations and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings and respond to concerns from authorities and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Ramp Operations.
  • At least 18 years old with basic computer skills and typing speed of 35 WPM.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluent in English, with good communication skills.
  • No disqualifying criminal record and able to pass a drug test.
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work weekends, holidays, and days off.
